Don’t Limit Yourself: Maybe God is Willing to Give You far more than You have Asked For
People’s Surrounding Impacts What They Expect to Achieve
In any society, majority of people keep living a life of scarcity and dissatisfaction. They don’t achieve a lot of things – whether that is a lot of money, power, status, position or other materialistic gains – in their life because they generally don’t ask for that. Most people generally don’t think of achieving a lot in their life. Rather they keep thinking and telling themselves that I cannot have this or that. They keep telling themselves (often unconsciously) that achieving something big (like a big position, car, house or something else) is not realistic and practical.
Such people continue to live a life of scarcity because they think that they cannot have much. People only limit their achievements by limiting their thinking and by having a scarcity mindset. They keep thinking that I do not have resources or capability to get a lot of things in life.
To a large extent, our thinking and views about what we can and cannot achieve are shaped by our surroundings, like our family, neighborhood, school and society at large. Most often, people from our surroundings keep feeding us with what we can and cannot achieve. If someone thinks of achieving or doing something that is not typical of his or her surrounding, then others think that he or she is not a logical person and make fun of him or her. People in our surroundings keep telling us what we should think of or should not think of achieving.
Consequently, to make decision about what to achieve and to set target for themselves, people often look around them and see what are some standards set by the society. They then adjust their expectations as per the standards set by the society. This happens in almost all areas of life. People generally set ‘realistic or practical’ goals for themselves. By setting these realistic goals, they only limit themselves.
What about you? Are you sure that you are not limiting yourself by limiting your thinking? God may be willing to give you far more than you have asked for.
God is Willing to Give you More Than You Ask For
Most people generally achieve very limited in their life because they don’t ask for more. By asking for limited, people generally get limited. From their perspective, that may be too much. But who knows that God maybe willing to give them far more than they have asked for. God doesn’t have a scarcity mindset like human beings. God can provide you unlimited resources and other things given that you are ready, and open, for that. Most of the time, people themselves are not ready to receive abundance as they have a scarcity mindset. They don’t look at the possibilities of what all they can get. They keep assuming that only this much I can have and get. If they themselves are not ready to receive more, why would God give them more.
Maybe God has some grander plan for you, but by asking very limited you are not letting those plans materialize. So, have an abundance mindset and believe in the Almighty. He is willing to give you more than you have asked for. Are you ready to receive far more than you can think of?
You Can Get What All You Can Think of (and May be even More)
As mentioned earlier, people only limit themselves by having a scarcity mindset. You can have all what you can think of. But the irony is that most of the time most people don’t think that they can have much more than they have. For that you have to have abundance mindset, not scarcity mindset. Whatever you think get manifested into reality. If you really want to achieve something and work hard for that, no one can deny you that. However, for that to happen you have to believe in yourself, work hard and have faith in the Almighty. You will be able to achieve what all you have thought, and may be far more than that.
You have to think big. But you also have to work hard to achieve what you want. Simply thinking and not working hard enough to achieve what you want is not going to help you.
There are a lot of people who dream about achieving big things, like a lot of money, fancy cars, big house etc., but they don’t work hard enough to fulfill their dreams. Your thinking should be complemented by dedication and hard work. Simply thinking (and keep dreaming) is not going to get you much in life. You also have to learn to be focused and work hard. Also, you need to learn to be content with whatever you achieve.
Have More, but also Learn to be Content with What you Have
Simply having all what you want is not enough. You also need to learn to be content with whatever you have. Feeling unhappy and dissatisfied despite having everything that you have wished for is of no use. There are a lot of people who have far more money and power, have well paid jobs and high status than majority of people in their surroundings, but they are generally very unhappy and dissatisfied in their life. Once they achieve one goal, then all the time they keep thinking about the next goal. The more they have, the more they feel to have more of it. People’s goalpost keeps shifting. They reach to one goal, then they think of achieving another. It’s a never-ending process. Despite having far more than others, they usually feel very unhappy and dissatisfied. So, you need to learn to be content with what you have.
In sum, think as big as you can. Have an abundance mindset. You can have what all you want. But at the same time, it is also important to learn to be content with what you have. Because if you will not learn to be content with what you have, no matter how much you have – whether that is power, position, money, status etc. – that will not be enough to make you happy. Real happiness and satisfaction will come from being content with whatever you have.
